Why even "happy" people need to be daily happiness, motivation and empowerment learners



Even with the declining happiness level in America there are many people who consider themselves to be "happy". But even these people can become happier still by being a daily happiness, motivation and empowerment learner a little each day.


One of my favorite sayings is that staying the same is going backwards and that not to advance is to retreat. At the same time a long term study has found that the number of people who consider themselves to be "very happy" in America has declined by 50% in the last ten years so even if you are "very happy" it is getting harder and harder to stay there.


Research also shows that if our happiness is measured by external things such as having a good job, how much money we make, being married, having a great home, having kids etc. that the happimess we experience from these external life goals does not last. After a certain amount of time we get used to having achieved the major life goal and go back to being about as happy as we were before we achieved it. This concept is called hedonic adaptation and we will treat it in this program.


The reality is that the kind of happiness that lasts and continues to increase is "inside-out" which means that working on your inner state of life and self development as a happy and whole human being actually is more important an indicator of happiness that external results.
