The power of being a daily happiness, motivation and empowerment learner a little each day
Imagine for a moment that you wanted to learn to play a musical instrument really well or become really good at a sport but didn't have a great music teacher or athletic coach. What would the results be? You might make some progress but on your own it would be much slower and much less effective than it could be by far. Now imagine that you had a world class music teacher or athletic coach to inspire and motivate you, teach you and give you feedback a little each day and kept doing it. What would the results be? The exact same thing applies to learning to become your best and happiest self and creating your best and happiest life in every area of your life now and throughout your life. People with daily happiness, motivation and empowerment training a little each day will experience much more happiness, motivation and results in all of the essential areas of their lives than those without it by far. Plus the daily process we will teach you in this program is really fun. We want to make learning to become your best and happiest self and create your best and happiest life a little each day like it was one of your favorite hobbies- something you really enjoy doing and look forward to doing eavery day.

The declining happiness level in America
Sadly according to significant research the happiness level in America has been declining significantly for many years. One reliable long term study has found that Americans are less happy today than they have been in 50 years. Another long term study found that the number of people in America who consider themselves to be "very happy" has declined by 50% in the last ten years. America has also been slipping downward consistently in the United Nations International Happiness Survey over the last several decades. Today we have: -a 50% divorce rate. -decreased family happiness -an epidemic of depression and anxiety especially in those under 30 and teenagers. -a significant decline in the quality of our social connections and a significant increase in people complaining of feeling loneliness. -decreased job satisfaction -significantly increased financial stress -stress due to internal domestic politics, polarization and the state of the world -a lack of confidence in the "American dream" and much more. In this program we will look at the areas where this decline is taking place and what we can do to change this as individuals starting with ourselves.

Happiness myths we have been taught that don't work
One reason why the happiness level in America has been declining so much is the existence of quite a number of happiness myths that exist in our society. Happiness myths are beliefs about happiness - about what it is and how to increase and sustain it that we have been taught, often since childhood that just don’t work or don’t create the meaningful and sustainable happiness that we have been taught to believe that they will. They also include the belief that if certain things happen to us- such as a divorce, job loss or going broke that we can't be deeply happy as we work to change the situation when the reality is that we definitely can. We all have probably identified some of these happiness myths but some that research in Positive Psychology have found will really surprise you. Because we can buy into these myths we can end up experiencing significantly less happiness in life than we could. In this program we will explore the happiness myths in our society as well as what research in Positive Psychology has found really does increase and sustain meaningful and authentic happiness and well being, motivation and results in our personal life and self identity, emotional well being, in our relationships, in school, work and in all of the essentiakl areas of life. and learn to apply and, reinforce these things day by day a little each day and turn them into habits in our lives- a part of who we are.

How our schools have failed us
The lack of any real happiness, motivation and empowerment training in all our years in school
We spend a lot of time in school but from the very beginnings of our educational experience the schools have focused almost solely on academics and career skills. While these are important of course the vast majority of our schools have not taught us consistently or effectively the principles, beliefs, attitudes and actions that enable people to significantly increase and sustain happiness, motivation and effectiveness in life in all of the essential areas of their lives throughout their lives. These things actually are probably as or even more important than academics but in this sense our schools have really failed us. In the relatively small number of schools where the essential elements of happiness, motivation and personal empowerment are a central part of the daily core curriculum the results have been amazing even with traditionally under performing students. Students (and people in general) with consistent happiness, motivation and empowerment training have more confidence and self- worth, set higher and more exciting goals, work harder to achieve them and bounce back from falling short or failing faster and even more determined to win. They experience more positive emotions, create much better human relationships in every area of their lives, enjoy and perform better in school and work and have happier and more fulfilled lives in every area of their lives.
Staying the same is going backwards
Why even "happy" people need to be daily happiness, motivation and empowerment learners a little each day
One of my favorite sayings is that staying the same is going backwards. The moment we stop challenging ourselves to grow we start going backwards. Often when we reach a certain level of happiness we become self satisfied and content with where we are. However a reliable long term survey has found that the number of people who consider themselves to be "very happy" in America has actually declined by 50% in the last ten years. In other words even if you consider yourself to be "very happy" it is getting harder and harder to stay there. We believe that being a daily happiness, motvation and empowerment learner and having a growth mindset is something we all need to do throughout our lives even a little each day
